What are goPoints?

goPoints are a points system that rewards drivers for doing the right thing while using goCatch.

goPoints are awarded to drivers that pick up jobs and complete them. When you get enough goPoints, you are upgraded to the next level and unlock access to better jobs, more frequently. There are four levels; Gold, Silver, Bronze and Unranked.

Why do they matter?

goPoints are used to determine the loyalty and status of drivers using goCatch. The more goPoints that you have, the higher your priority will be as jobs come through. When a big job comes through, Gold Drivers can access it first, followed by Silver, Bronze and Unranked drivers. This is our way of rewarding the drivers who accept the unpopular, shorter jobs.

How does it work?

You earn goPoints by doing the right thing by customers.

goPoints are awarded to you when you:

  • Collect a passenger
  • When you accept a short distance fare
  • When you accept payment from the passenger via the goCatch app

At the top of the map screen, you can see your current goPoints balance, status level and the number of goPoints required to reach the next level. If you tap on the goPoints bar, you’ll be able to see more information.

When a job appears, tap on the job to see the details. At the top of the screen, you’ll be able to see how many points you’ll earn for accepting and completing the job.

You also earn goPoints by completing the job. When you pick up the passenger and the job is completed, the goPoints will automatically be added to your total.

Can I lose goPoints?

If you abandon a passenger after accepting their job, you will lose goPoints immediately. If you do this often your status will be downgraded one level.

For example, if you are a Silver Driver and you abandon too many jobs, you will be downgraded to Bronze status.

Ageing

If you accept a minimum number of payments every month, you will not lose any points. See below for how many payments you must accept to keep your points:

  • Silver drivers must accept at least 1 payment
  • Gold drivers must accept at least 3 payments
  • Platinum drivers must accept at least 5 payments

But if you don't accept enough payments every month, 40% of the points required for the level you are on will expire each month.

For example, 1 month after you reach silver status, 400 points will expire. To maintain silver status, you need to earn at least 400 points per month. If you are on gold, then 1 month from the day you reached gold, 2,000 points will expire.
